4TH ANNUAL MELANIN MALA PROJECT

We started this event back in 2022 and it's only gotten bigger and better each year.

We host this FREE wellness experience for the community thanks to sponsors, ticket sales, and proceeds from our Melanin Mala Project Merchandise!

Our event is free to the public and people of all ages come out to experience the one of a kind healing experience.

Our event kicks off with a group centering breath work experience followed by sun salutations.

We practice a collective 108 sun salutations with modified adjustments to accommodate all of our participants. These 108 are usually broken down into rounds with breaks and rest in between.

You are welcome to participate in as many or as little as your body sees fit!

Each year we offer a walking labyrinth meditation that is facilitated by our dear friend Jettye Davis.

This walking meditation brings peace and serenity to all who participate in the grounding practice.

Every year we offer something special for the youth like snow cones, cotton candy, and other fun activities hosted by our youth volunteer.

Reiki Level I Certification

Hi! Master Reiki Teacher Adi here to extend a warm invitation to you in our upcoming Reiki Level I workshop April 11th from 6:30 pm (cst) until 8:30 pm (cst) at Inglenook Yoga Studio.

Reiki is a form of energetic healing through touch and distance. The level One Program initiates the in-person hands on healing for self or clients. Level II Reiki focuses for more on distance reiki and is an advanced practice, while level III (master reiki) is all three combined in addition to the attunement to attune others. That program is when you become the Master and create spaces of healing and safe touch for others.

We are located in the Inglenook Neighborhood - parking and entrance is in the 42nd Ave Alley. Please look for our cabana lights and our colorful sign. If you have any questions or need help getting to our facility please give us a call at 205-585-9579.

We ask that all participants arrive at least 5 minutes early to secure parking, take care of personal needs and to get seated and set up.

Reiki Level One Attunement is $150 per person. This includes the instructional hands on course and a certificate through the Usui Reiki Tradition. (Yes, we are able to attune levels one - III if you have questions email us [email protected] for additional questions)

The workshop is completely hands on offering you a chance to work with your energy and others during our time together.

Please dress lightly and bring a notebook for notes.

We provide tea with each participants purchase of the course.

Become a Sound Healing Facilitator (sound bath workshop)

Hi! My name is Adi Kaur and I've been asked to travel all over the South East Region to share my love of healing through sound with corporate leaders like ACLU AL and even our Birmingham Museum of arts who registered over 300 people for the last Sound Bath I facilitated.

That means there is a HUGE demand for what I (and soon we) offer.

I am a self taught flautist with almost 3 years of experience in playing the Native American bass flute.

I find comfort knowing that what I do can be done by anyone who takes the time to sit with an instrument with the intention to heal. I have been offering these sound baths for years now and this will be the second facilitation workshop that I'll have the pleasure of hosting at Inglenook Yoga Studio.

The program will start with a demonstration of a sound bath and we will move into hands on demonstrations with the instruments and practice.

Instruments in use:

flute (flute will not be used by participants)

ocean drum

gong

buffalo drum

meditation bells from India

hand pan

harmonium (harmonium will not be used by participants)

sound bowls / crystal + Tibetan

didgeridoo (didgeridoo will not be used by participants)

wooden toad

shakers

Please get back with me if you have any questions at [email protected]
